Koos Koops M.Sc. – CEO
As CEO of Xendo, Koos has the overall responsibility for all divisions: Xendo Pharma Services B.V., Xendo Manufacturing B.V., Xendo Drug Development B.V. and Xendo Scandinavia AB. Before joining Xendo, Koos has worked in scientific and managerial positions at the Red Cross Blood Bank and at Gist-Brocades/Bio Intermediair (site manager). Koos holds a master degree in biochemistry, and has a vast experience in process development, bio-manufacturing QC, QA and validation.
Peter Smit – COO
As COO of Xendo, Peter is responsible for Operations, including HRM for all Xendo divisions (Xendo Pharma Services B.V., Xendo Manufacturing B.V., Xendo Drug Development B.V. and Xendo Scandinavia AB). Before joining Xendo, Peter worked as director of engineering at Centocor and as technical director for the engineering contractor Burgers. Peter is a graduate of engineering, with experience in process engineering, facility design and engineering, qualification and validation.
Ard Tijsterman, M.Sc. - Managing director
Ard has the daily responsibility for two divisions: Xendo Pharma Services B.V. and Xendo Manufacturing B.V. Before joining Xendo, Ard worked at CLB (process engineering manager of the blood fractionation institute) and Chiron (head manufacturing & process development). He holds a master degree in biotechnology, and has a vast experience in process development, bio-manufacturing, QA and validation.
Jaap Wieling, Ph.D. - Managing director
Jaap is responsible for Xendo Drug Development B.V., with main focus on full-service early clinical research, bioanalysis and drug metabolism. He joined Xendo through the foundation of this division in 1999. Before that (since 1988), he held different R&D and (general)management positions at internationally oriented contract-research and contract manufacturing organisations, such as TNO, Pharma Bio-Research/PRA Intl. and DSM Biologics. As analytical chemist and pharmacologist, Jaap holds a Ph.D. degree in Mathematics and Natural Sciences. He is also a lecturer at the Groningen University Institute of Drug Exploration.
Reinier Schwietert, R.Ph., Ph.D. – Executive director business development
Reinier is responsible for all the business development of Xendo Drug Development B.V. Before joining Xendo, he held several position, including working as a research scientist at the Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapeutics of the School of Medicine at the University of Amsterdam, in addition to Pharma Bio Research (senior research scientist/project co-ordinator and manager of the sponsor liaison office) and Avoxova (general manager and group director operations). Reinier is a registered pharmacist, with experience in pharmacology, clinical trial design and management.
